Major State Roads and Interstates in Wise County

Its location near Dallas and Fort Worth means Wise County sees a high volume of pass-through traffic. If you’re heading home from Colorado, you’re likely to encounter law enforcement along one of these major roads:

  • S. Highway 81 (US 81)
  • S. Highway 287 (US 287)
  • S. Highway 380 (US 380)
  • State Highway 101 (SH 101)
  • State Highway 114 (SH 114)
  • State Highway 199 (SH 199)

It’s important that you understand the dangers of traveling with marijuana in your possession. The local police usually handle the more small-time busts for possession. What many don’t realize is marijuana is illegal at the federal level across the country – including in states that have legalized weed locally.

Most of the federal marijuana cases involve high-volume traffickers. While it’s unlikely you’ll be prosecuted by the federal government, you need to know it’s still entirely possible. The attorneys at the Law Offices of David Sloane, PLLC have plenty of experience fighting cases at the federal level. Whether you’re busted by the local or federal authorities, contact us when you need help defending your rights.
